Buddhist Philosophy Promotion and Monastery Development Committee serves as the official body of Government of Nepal under the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, which allocates resources from the government level for both the promotion of Buddhist Philosophy and preserving centuries old rich cultural heritage, spiritual teachings, and community engagement of Nepal’s monastic traditions.

Nestled in the heart of the Himalayas, Nepal is the birthplace of the Tathagata Shakyamuni Buddha and is also home to a myriad of monasteries that embody centuries of Buddhist practices and philosophies. These sacred spaces not only serve as places of worship but also as centers for education, meditation, and community service. Our committee seeks to highlight these essential roles by providing support to the monasteries within the nation and to keep the monastic traditions alive within the various monasteries.

The committee has been facilitating events, teachings, and resources for the monasteries as well as those interested in the sublime doctrine of Buddhist Philosophy through public teachings that the committee hosts annually on many occasions. It is also serves an integral role of connecting the government of Nepal with monasteries and the public. Therefore our main aim is to foster cultural exchange, promote tourism, and support the preservation of Nepal’s spiritual heritage. The committee is committed to transparency and accessibility, ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to engage with the profound wisdom and tranquility of Buddha’s teachings.

Similarly the committee has taken initiatives to engage practitioners and scholars alike in exploring the depths of Buddhist philosophy through various workshops, seminars, conferences and scholarship programs that it hosts annually on behalf of the government. It is with the understanding that Buddhist teachings are accessible to a broader audience, encouraging a deeper understanding of concepts such as compassion, mindfulness, and interdependence.

Furthermore the committee collaborates with local as well as helps Nepali communities who dwell around the globe to preserve the values of Buddhist tradition, philosophy and culture internationally. The committee has been organizing and coordinating for various programs to foster further spiritual development and cultural preservation within Nepali communities internationally. Therefore the committee has been helping to further relay the Buddhist message of compassion, mindfulness and interdependence internationally to promote peaceful coexistence, social responsibility and community service globally.

Through its dedicated efforts, the Buddhist Philosophy Promotion and Monastery Development Committee aspires to uphold the timeless teachings of Buddhism, ensuring that they continue to inspire future generations while reinforcing Nepal's identity as a beacon of peace and spiritual wisdom.
